RT Journal Article SR Electronic(1) A1 Lundeby, ErlingYR 2020 T1 The Message of Discipleship: Authentic followers of Jesus in today’s world JF European Journal of Theology, VO 28 IS 2 SP 200 OP 202 DO https://doi.org/10.5117/EJT2019.2.023.LUND PB Amsterdam University Press, SN 2666-9730, AB Summary Morden’s book is a biblical theology as well as a practical theology of discipleship. Four principles shape his book: 1) Focus on Jesus whom we are following, 2) Focus on the gospel which must continually be applied generously, 3) Focus on whole-life discipleship which transforms lives, and 4) Focus pastorally wise on the challenges of radical discipleship as well as the ‘discipleship deficit’ in today’s church. The text is rich in mining the Bible as well as interacting with other authors and contemporary life illustrations. The seventeen chapters can well be read separately. This very helpful book is a rich resource on discipleship.
