Abstract

Samenvatting

Als gevolg van COVID-19 gaven diverse regeringen begin 2020 het dringende advies om thuis te werken. Kenniswerk werd bijna exclusief verplaatst naar de thuiswerkplek. Deze situatie geeft aanleiding om na te denken over de periode na COVID-19: hoe kan de opgedane ervaring ons helpen bij het vaststellen van de wijze waarop we de handelingsmogelijkheden () van fysieke en virtuele werkvormen het best kunnen inzetten in het postcorona-kantoor? Ter beantwoording van deze vraag bewandelen wij twee paden. Allereerst analyseren we de bestaande literatuur met betrekking tot het werken op afstand binnen kantoorhoudende organisaties. Vervolgens analyseren we een aantal werkzame condities voor succesvolle ‘sociale ruimtes’, voortvloeiend uit historische inzichten van georganiseerde gemeenschappelijkheid. Deze condities bieden organisaties beter inzicht in de onderwerpen die van belang zijn bij het doordenken van de verhouding tussen de gemeenschappelijke fysieke en digitale ruimte. Bovendien vormen ze een aanzet tot een nieuw op te stellen onderzoeksagenda.
