Abstract

Samenvatting

In de uitdagende IT-arbeidsmarkt is employer branding essentieel om IT-talent aan te trekken en te behouden. Dit onderzoek introduceert het Instrumenteel-Symbolisch Raamwerk om de relatie tussen kenmerken, aantrekkelijkheid en uniciteit van IT-werkgevers te onderzoeken, zowel voor sollicitanten als medewerkers. Vragenlijsten zijn verspreid onder IT-studenten ( = 94) en IT-medewerkers ( = 126) om de aantrekkelijkheid van twee IT-bedrijven te onderzoeken. De studie benadrukt het belang van instrumentele kenmerken zoals managementkwaliteit, locatie en doorgroeimogelijkheden, evenals symbolische kenmerken zoals prestige en innovatie bij het beoordelen van werkgeversaantrekkelijkheid. Daarnaast wordt de rol van symbolische kenmerken voor medewerkers benadrukt, aangezien deze significant bijdragen aan de aantrekkelijkheid en meer variatie verklaren voor medewerkers dan voor sollicitanten. Ook wordt geëxploreerd hoe een IT-organisatie kan verschillen van een directe concurrent voor beide doelgroepen. Door zowel aantrekkelijke als onderscheidende kenmerken te identificeren kan een organisatie doelgerichte acties ondernemen die zijn afgestemd op de doelgroep en zo de concurrentie aangaan om talent in de IT-sector te werven. Samengevat belicht dit onderzoek wat IT-organisaties aantrekkelijk maakt voor diverse doelgroepen en biedt het praktische richtlijnen om de concurrentie aan te gaan.
