Abstract

The article reveals the process of the revival of the Caucasian style on the territory of the Russian Empire in the epoch of Historicism, first of all in the Armenian ecclesiastic architecture. The aim of the text is to demonstrate the leading role of graduates from the Institute of Civil Engineers in making projects of such churches, where the main attention was put at the shaping of the New Byzantine style, including that one called Armenian-Byzantine by contemporaries.
