Abstract

Samenvatting

Deze studie vergelijkt de waargenomen invloed van rolmodellen in de traditionele media en de nieuwe (sociale) media op LHBTI’ers. Een online survey onder 183 LHBTI’ers met gesloten en open vragen liet zien dat LHBTI’ers denken dat rolmodellen op sociale media meer invloed hadden op hun coming-out dan rolmodellen in traditionele media. Rolmodellen in zowel sociale als traditionele media bieden herkenning, geven informatie, en dragen bij aan normalisatie.
